Toward SBI through SAS

JAKARTA, JUNE 29 – JULY 2, 2009. In cooperate with the Indonesian International Exchange Foundation (IIEF), GTZ-IGI conducted a Self-Access Study (SAS) training for 9 IGI vocational schools.
The training aimed to improve the management and content of SAS at IGI schools as a part of English development program toward the international benchmarked schools in IGI SMK. For this purpose, the trainees had been trained about the role of SAS, how to set up systems and fit out premises, how to choose, organize and maintain materials and equipment and how to maximize the use of SAS itself at the schools. English learning materials or any related vocational subjects could be attached to the contents of SAS.
The training was opened by IGI Advisor, Djohar Wachid and Director of IIEF, Dr. Irid Agoes who also supported the trainees to use English language during the training sessions.
Up coming trainings for English teachers in August and productive teachers in October 2009 will also be held as the continuation of the English development program for vocational schools.
