Becoming Competency Assessor in the Mechanical Expertise

BANDUNG, JUNE 22 – JULY 1, 2009. IGI and Indonesian Professional Certification Body for Metalwork and Machinery (LSP-LMI) collaborate in the competency assessor training and TUK development.
To enable the individual capability in assessing competency especially in metal work and machinery, 24 participants from 10 IGI institutes: VEDC Malang, Politeknik SAKTI Surabaya, P4TK Medan, SMKN 1 Jenangan Ponorogo, NVTDC Bandung, SMK Mikael Solo, SMKN 1 Purwosari, SMKN 6 Bandung. Politeknik Negeri Malang, and SMKN 2 Kendal had been trained in Polman Bandung in the competency assessor training according to the standard of Indonesian Professional Certification Authority (BNSP).
Not only training, the participants were also tested in the competency test for this mechanical field. In sequence to the training, the independent and real assessments were continued as a set of training package to become the licensed competency assessors.
TUK or workplace for competency test related with the metalwork and machinery will also be developed in selected IGI institutes. The training was the first step to leverage competency development at the IGI institutes, next the institutes will involve for the preparation of TUK to reach the better graduates and at least the best employment.
